SNEAK PEEK: Seven Sharp Winners' Transformation

Late last year, Harrisons ran a competition with Seven Sharp. The makeover competition winner received $40,000 of new Harrisons Carpet & Hard Flooring, Curtains & Blinds and a Solar System.

Donna Jensen was nominated for our Seven Sharp makeovers by her son, Mason.

For Donna and her husband, Lyall, and their children, it has been a busy time for them to get their home renovated after they received the prize in August 2022.

Why did your son nominate you for the Seven Sharp competition?

“My mum has been fostering kids for so many years now, and it would be a nice surprise for her and the rest of the family, and it would be good to get rid of the mould”

What work have you had to do prior to getting ready for the new flooring and, curtains & blinds?

One bedroom had already been completed with new gib walls and painted. The other bedrooms, hall and living room had to be re gibbed first and then painted. We decided to keep the same paint colour throughout the house. We have continued with Resene colour Concrete on the walls with Resene 1/2 Alabaster White for the door and window frames. We are still to complete the lounge, kitchen, bathroom and laundry at this stage. It's a huge task as Lyall does the painting work by himself.

What Flooring did you go for?

For the Bedrooms, living room and hallway, we have gone with the Lafayette 765 carpet with 11mm Underlay. For the kitchen, bathroom, toilet, and laundry, we have gone with Elements DS luxury vinyl plank.

What window coverings did you go for?

Curtain and Blinds? We have a mix throughout the house of 50mm wide Venetian blinds in snow white. And then in the master bedroom and lounge we have Dune, colour Mist, curtains with Orbit and Lucent backing.
